Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Oslo explores the role of cholesterol flux in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), a type of pancreatic cancer. The study found that inhibiting the actions of key regulators of cholesterol flux can suppress the growth of PDAC cells. Additionally, the presence of fatty acids was found to restore intracellular cholesterol balance and reverse the effects of cholesterol flux inhibitors. These findings suggest that targeting cholesterol flux could be a promising strategy for developing new therapeutics against PDAC, although the impact of fatty acids in the tumor microenvironment should be considered.
