Abstract

Researchers from Chongqing University in China have conducted a study on trastuzumab resistance in gastric cancer (GC). They focused on the role of Regulator of G Protein Signaling 1 (RGS1) in trastuzumab resistance and its possible mechanism in GC. The study found that RGS1 expression was significantly upregulated in GC tissues and trastuzumab-resistant GC tissues and cells. Overexpression of RGS1 enhanced resistance to trastuzumab, migration, invasion, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) progression in GC cells. Additionally, RGS1 activated the MEK/ERK pathway by regulating G alpha q signaling, promoting trastuzumab resistance and malignant behaviors in GC cells. [Extracted from the article]
