Abstract

A recent report from Inje University College of Medicine discusses research on atherosclerosis. The study aimed to evaluate the effects of moderate-intensity statin with ezetimibe combination therapy versus high-intensity statin monotherapy in patients with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. The findings showed that regardless of sex, the combination therapy had similar effects on the primary outcome compared to the monotherapy. Additionally, the combination therapy resulted in lower rates of drug intolerance and higher achievement of LDL cholesterol levels. The study concluded that the benefits of ezetimibe combination therapy were observed regardless of sex. [Extracted from the article]
