Abstract

A recent study conducted by the Biodonostia Health Research Institute examined the effectiveness of different treatments for Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection in Europe based on antibiotic resistance. The study found that the three-in-one single-capsule treatment with bismuth, metronidazole, and tetracycline, as well as the classic bismuth quadruple treatment, were the most effective options for naive patients, even in the presence of bacterial resistance. In non-naive patients, the three-in-one single-capsule treatment and the triple therapy with levofloxacin showed promising results. The study suggests that these treatments should be considered in regions with high rates of antibiotic resistance. [Extracted from the article]
