Abstract

Alberta, a Canadian province known for its oil reserves, has seen its budget surplus more than double to $4.1 billion due to higher oil prices and population growth. The province's government revenue is projected to be $74.3 billion for the fiscal year, $4 billion more than previously forecasted. Alberta is also experiencing a population boom as people are attracted to the region for job opportunities and affordable housing. Despite higher expenses from wildfires, the province's debt is expected to decrease. Alberta's economy is projected to grow, but the unemployment rate may rise temporarily before declining.
