Abstract
- This article is a response to comments and suggestions made by Dr. Chen and colleagues regarding a study on the association between hemoglobin drop and in-hospital mortality and acute kidney injury (AKI) among COVID-19 patients. The authors acknowledge the suggestion to include additional variables related to AKI and subcategorize AKI types as outcomes in their analysis. They also address concerns about the cutoff value for hemoglobin drop, stating that a hemoglobin drop of 3 g/dl appeared to be a reasonable cutoff based on their analysis. The authors express gratitude for the opportunity to respond and agree that collecting more granular data would further elucidate the association. No funding or conflicts of interest were declared.
