Abstract

A recent study conducted by the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation examined the levels of cytokines, cell-free DNA (cfDNA), and cell-free fetal DNA (cffDNA) in women's plasma during preterm birth (PB). The study aimed to identify the relationships between these factors and determine their prognostic significance. The researchers found that the levels of IL-6, IL-8, and cfDNA were significantly increased in women with PB compared to women with physiological pregnancy. The study suggests that cfDNA may be a potential marker for PB and highlights the importance of the relationship between cfDNA and IL-8 in the development of PB. [Extracted from the article]
