Abstract
- Researchers at National Tsing-Hua University in Hsinchu, Taiwan have developed a new microfluidic chip with a paper-based aptamer-sandwich assay for the detection of HNP 1, a biomarker for periprosthetic joint infections (PJI), in synovial fluid. The assay demonstrates high selectivity and affinity for target molecules and offers rapid, cost-effective, and highly sensitive detection of HNP 1. It has a wide dynamic range and can detect levels as low as 0.5 mg L-1. The researchers believe that this assay has the potential to enhance PJI diagnosis in clinical settings.
