Abstract
- Researchers from the University of Burdwan in West Bengal, India have developed highly efficient and stable nanocomposites for photocatalytic degradation of wastewater pollutants and antibacterial activities. The composites, made of WO3-embedded hierarchical BiOCl/g-C3N4, showed outstanding performance in degrading colored dyes, colorless pollutants, tetracycline antibiotics, and reducing chromium (VI) from wastewater under sunlight irradiation. The nanocomposites also exhibited a significant photocatalytic hydrogen production rate and inhibited the growth of gram-positive and gram-negative pathogenic bacteria. This research provides a framework for future photocatalysts for organic pollutant remediation, heavy metal removal, and solar light-driven hydrogen evolution. [Extracted from the article]
