Abstract

A recent study conducted at Shandong University in China examined the past, present, and future of global research on artificial intelligence (AI) applications in dermatology. The study used bibliometric analysis to evaluate scientific papers on AI applications in dermatology. The analysis found that the United States had the highest number of papers on this topic, with the University of California System and author Allan C. Halpern having the highest number of papers. The study identified three current research priorities in this field: wound progression prediction using machine learning, the integration of AI into teledermatology, and applications of algorithms in skin diseases.
