Abstract
- Researchers from Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia have conducted a historical review of the treatment of Robin Sequence, a congenital anomaly characterized by micrognathia, glossoptosis, and airway obstruction. The review highlights the evolution of treatment approaches and appliances, emphasizing the use of biomimetic designs inspired by nature and individual human anatomy. Current biomimetic designs are shown to be more efficient, comfortable, sustainable, and safer than traditional designs. The research concludes that the interdisciplinary biomimetic approach is at the forefront of Robin Sequence treatment, impacting its future management strategies. [Extracted from the article]
