Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at the National Institute for Food and Drug Control in Beijing, China, explored the effects of Euphorbia kansui stir-fried with vinegar and bile acids on malignant ascites effusion (MAE) through modulation of gut microbiota. The study found that the combination of Euphorbia kansui and bile acids had a synergistic effect on MAE by regulating the gut microbiota. The researchers established a rat model of MAE and analyzed the effects of the treatment on histopathological analysis, biochemical examination, inflammatory factors, urine volume, ascites amount, and intestinal aquaporin expression. The study concluded that this combination treatment strategy could provide a scientific basis for the reasonable usage of Euphorbia kansui and the treatment of MAE. [Extracted from the article]
