Activities and leading positions of women physicists in Serbia.

This paper shows the activities that members of our working group undertook during the previous four years, and it is also devoted to the women who attained leadership positions in education and science at all levels. Even though there are women physicists in Serbia who are very successful in their scientific research, they seldom get managerial positions in scientific institutions. The second part of the paper gives an overview of the life and work of one of our outstanding theoretical physicists whose vision, ideas, results and contributions are a legacy to the entire community of physicists in Serbia. We also present biographies of two Serbian astrophysicists who left a significant mark in this field. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
