Abstract

A meta-analysis conducted by researchers at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China compared the efficacy of single-port laparoscopy (SPL) and conventional laparoscopy (CL) in the treatment of benign gynecologic adnexal lesions. The study found that SPL resulted in lower post-operative pain compared to CL at 2, 24, and 48 hours after the operation. However, there was no significant difference in pain levels at 6, 8, and 12 hours after the operation. The researchers concluded that SPL may lead to less pain in both the post-operative and far post-operative phases. [Extracted from the article]
