Abstract
- A new study on Pain and Central Nervous System from the University of Melbourne highlights the progress made in addressing global vision loss and blindness. The study emphasizes the need for integrated person-centered eye care and the importance of training coordinated eye care teams to meet population-based needs. While the prevalence rates of vision loss and blindness are decreasing worldwide, the actual number of affected individuals is slowly increasing due to population growth and aging. The research calls for the integration of eye care into primary care and other specialist services to ensure equity in eye care. [Extracted from the article]
