Abstract

A recent study conducted at Ivanovo State University in Russia focused on the protonation constants of hydrazones and Schiff bases derived from pyridoxal, pyridoxal 5'-phosphate, 3-hydroxyisonicotinaldehyde, and salicylic aldehyde. These compounds have various biological activities and are used in areas such as analytical chemistry and medicine. The researchers developed a chemometric model to describe the protolytic equilibria constants, taking into account molecular descriptors and ionic strength.
