Abstract

A recent study conducted at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City explored the experiences of patients and providers using telemedicine for gynecologic visits in a diverse, low-income population. The study found that the majority of patients reported positive experiences with telemedicine, citing improved access to healthcare, cost savings, and time savings compared to in-person visits. However, older patients were more likely to find telemedicine unreliable. Providers also had positive experiences, but there was a need to evaluate whether trainee providers felt adequately trained to deliver telemedicine visits. Overall, the study highlights the potential benefits of telemedicine for low-income women seeking outpatient gynecologic care. [Extracted from the article]
