A new study conducted at IRCCS Humanitas Research Hospital in Milan, Italy, has examined the use of a new dedicated electrocautery lumen-apposing metal stent (LAMS) for gallbladder drainage in patients with acute cholecystitis. The study included 54 patients who were not suitable for surgery and underwent endoscopic ultrasonography-guided gallbladder drainage using the new LAMS. The results showed a high rate of technical and clinical success, with a low incidence of adverse events.
