Abstract

A report from Newcastle University in the United Kingdom discusses research findings on colorectal neoplasia, specifically the performance of risk prediction models for identifying high-risk patients. The study reviewed 62 studies, with 23 including fecal immunochemical testing (FIT) combined with other variables. Models including FIT consistently showed good discriminatory ability for colorectal neoplasia, but there were limitations in terms of calibration and validation. The research concludes that further evaluation is needed before widespread adoption in clinical practice. [Extracted from the article]
