Abstract
- A recent study conducted in Veracruz, Mexico examined the influence of vein and artery sizes on the maturation and patency of arteriovenous fistulas (AVFs) in a Mexican population. The study found that AVFs created with smaller vein and artery diameters had a lower rate of maturation and patency compared to AVFs with larger diameters. The research suggests that vein diameter should be at least 2.15 mm and artery diameter should be at least 2.95 mm for optimal AVF function. This study provides valuable insights into improving the success of AVF procedures in the Mexican population. [Extracted from the article]
