Abstract
- A recent study conducted by the University of Groningen in the Netherlands examined the effects of different heel rocker parameters on plantar pressure in the heel region for individuals with diabetic foot ulcers. The researchers found that rocker shoes and insoles, which are commonly used to reduce pressure in the forefoot, inadvertently increase pressure in the heel. They concluded that a heel rocker midsole with a distal apex position, small rocker radius, and apex angle of 100° can mitigate the negative effects on proximal heel pressure. However, other footwear options may be necessary to reduce pressure in the midheel and distal heel regions. [Extracted from the article]
