Abstract

A recent report from the Nihon University School of Medicine in Tokyo, Japan discusses recent advances in hepatitis A virus (HAV) research and clinical practice guidelines for HAV infection in Japan. The report highlights the importance of preventing hepatitis A, especially in light of a 2018 outbreak in Japan. The Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) Hepatitis A and E viruses (HAV and HEV) Study Group, composed of expert hepatologists and virologists, worked on creating the guidelines.
