Abstract

A preprint abstract from osf.io discusses the importance of understanding the psychological and social factors that motivate high impact climate behaviors in order to achieve significant carbon reductions. While previous research has focused on general climate beliefs and risk perceptions, this paper introduces the annual Climate Action on the Mind (CAM) longitudinal survey, which aims to track key psychosocial factors influencing high impact climate behaviors in the United States. The first two waves of the survey, conducted in December 2021 and June 2023, provide a multi-dimensional analysis of how these enabling conditions are shifting in the United States, with the goal of informing future policy and interventions. Please note that this preprint has not been peer-reviewed. [Extracted from the article]
