Abstract
- Two dozen health and medical organizations have written to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in support of California's Clean Air Act waivers. These waivers would allow the implementation of stronger-than-national clean air rules in California. The organizations argue that these rules would save thousands of lives and reduce cancer risk in vulnerable populations. California currently faces significant air pollution challenges, with several cities ranking among the most polluted in the country. The organizations are urging the EPA to approve the waivers and finalize stronger federal standards on trucks, power plants, and particle emissions. [Extracted from the article]
