Abstract

A recent study conducted at Bambino Gesu Children's Hospital in Rome, Italy, aimed to provide a better understanding of double-outlet left ventricle (DOLV), a congenital heart defect. The researchers reviewed the medical records of patients diagnosed with DOLV at their institution and conducted a systematic review of existing literature on the topic. They found that pulmonary stenosis was the most commonly associated lesion with DOLV, and subaortic ventricular septal defect (VSD) was the most common location of VSD. The study also identified the prevalence of different positions of the great arteries in DOLV cases. This research contributes to the knowledge of DOLV and its associated malformations.
