Abstract
- This article, titled "The Somatechnics of Water: Part 2," explores the power and agency of water in various contexts. It begins with a description of a violent hail storm in Dubbo, Australia, and the ways in which water upended and redistributed materials in the aftermath. The article then delves into case studies from Australia, Chile, Singapore, and Colombia, examining how water is managed and controlled by juridical, extractivist, and capitalist logics. The papers highlight the burden placed on non-human others and Indigenous populations to manage water degradation, as well as the permeability and expansive flows of water into otherwise impenetrable spaces. The article concludes by emphasizing the importance of understanding water's role in our relationships with other matter. [Extracted from the article]
