Recent advancements in volumetric flow meter for industrial application.

The technological development in measuring devices is massive due to the need for accurate flow measurements in various industries. However, the problem is choice of the flow meter for the complex and harsh environmental industrial applications. Due to the varied characteristic of gas and liquids, the mass flow meter provides an inaccurate result. Hence, this paper introduces the advancements in volumetric flow meters that provide highly accurate flow measurements. The various volumetric flow meter investigated in the paper are used for measurement of liquid, gas, and multi-phase flow. The study shows that electromagnetic is more suitable for complex environments of chemical and petroleum industries. The ultrasonic flow meter is a better alternative than the electromagnetic meter when the price is not a major concern. The ultrasonic flow meter also provides higher accuracy than other measurement techniques in multiple-phase-flow condition.
