Abstract

A recent study examined the socioeconomic inequalities in cardiometabolic risk factors among children and adolescents. The study used data from the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC) and measured factors such as fat and lean mass, blood pressure, pulse rate, glucose, and lipid levels. The findings showed that socioeconomic inequalities were evident in fat mass, blood pressure, and lipid levels, with females experiencing greater inequalities than males. The study suggests that early life interventions may be beneficial in reducing socioeconomic inequalities in cardiovascular disease, particularly among females. However, it is important to note that this study has not yet undergone peer review. [Extracted from the article]
