Abstract

Technology has boomed in all sectors of life and has become a basic need for human beings to rely on and use as their complementary part of tools in everyday life activities. Compared to the old days, when face-to-face and hands-on activities were traditionally conducted in the life and work of real estate agents, the presence of blockchain technology in the real estate industry can be so cooperative and decent for property users, workers, and authorities. Blockchain technologies have already been implemented, especially in the areas of land registry systems in the first place by most developing countries. In recent years, with the development of technology, especially in real estate industries, blockchain technology has excelled in providing better service to the public. This research aims to develop a framework of addressing fraud in real estate transactions using blockchain technology in Malaysia. The main objectives of this study are to identify the possible fraud issues in real estate transaction processes, to determine the principles of transparency and trust in addressing frauds in real estate transactions process, to assess the application of blockchain technology in improving transparency and trust related to fraud in real estate transactions process and to construct a framework of blockchain technology of addressing fraud in real estate transactions in transparency and trust improvement. The main research methodology opted in this research will be the Analytical hierachy process of Blockchain Implementation and Observation method in the context of blockchain in real estate agency transactions. Findings from cross-sectional content analysis and cognitive mapping would provide the needs for a real estate transaction process framework using blockchain technology for Malaysia.
