Abstract

Now days, free space optics (FSO) is one of the emerging technologies in the field of communication which has seen gigantic interest and vast evolution among the researchers. It can be seen as the replacement for the conventional radio frequency communication due to its various advantages of unlicensed band, security, speed as well as the bandwidth. In order to receive high bandwidth it has emerged as a promising technology in today's era. As in case of FSO transmission is done by using optical sources i.e. laser but rather than enclosing data into fibre cable the signal is transmitted via air. In this paper, we mainly contribute towards the general architecture of free space optics network. How data gets transmitted from one point to another while undergoing various attenuation and degradation in the signal because of atmospheric hindrances like snow, rain, fog etc. The main consideration in this paper is towards the high data rate requirement towards the end users.
