Abstract
- A report from the University General Hospital of Thessaloniki AHEPA in Greece discusses the use of ultrasonography in evaluating dialysis vascular access. The evolution of ultrasound techniques has greatly improved the evaluation of parameters in dialysis vascular access, such as arteriovenous fistulas and grafts. Ultrasonography techniques, including grayscale B-mode, color Doppler, power Doppler, and contrast-enhanced US, provide crucial information about the vascular bed before surgery and track the progress of the newly created access. The research also highlights potential complications of vascular access, such as thrombosis, steal syndrome, aneurysms, and infection. [Extracted from the article]
