Bayan Obo ore contains many kinds of minerals and complex mineral compositions, which leads to the low recovery and difficult separation of rare earth minerals. Superconducting magnetic separation is an appropriate technique for capturing rare earth minerals using a magnetic matrix. In this work, a fully coupled finite element model (FEM) was established to study the influence of various factors on the capture of rare earth minerals under a high-gradient superconducting magnetic field.
