Abstract

A waterborne epoxy MIO intercoat with excellent anticorrosive performance is developed. The prepared intercoat is mainly used as inter-layer coating for steel structure anticorrosive coating system. The effects of different amine/epoxy mol ratio, the proportion of MIO in the filler, pigment volume concentration and the type and amount of rheological additives, etc. on the properties of coatings are investigated. The waterborne epoxy MIO intercoat prepared by optimized condition experiment has excellent acid and alkali resistance, heat and humidity resistance, low VOCs and small odor, meanwhile, it greatly reduces the health risks to constructor and meets the requirements of green coatings.
