Abstract

A multiple score personality test used at Vassar College has been administered to German and Austrian students. Intercultural differences between Vassar College students and female German university students were less significant than personality differences within each culture. Female German university students had scores similar to Vassar College freshmen in Social Maturity and Dominance and Confidence, similar to Vassar College seniors in Impulse Expression and Developmental Status, and more masculine than Vassar College freshmen or seniors on the ME scale. German students in education have means significantly lower than the other German students in Social Maturity, Developmental Status, Dominance and Confidence, Impulse Expression, and Masculine Role. Austrian students had scores similar to Vassar College seniors on Developmental Status, lower than Vassar College students in Social Maturity and Dominance and Confidence, and higher than Vassar College students in Impulse Expression and Masculine Rôle.
