Abstract

The paper investigates the fracture of the target plate under shock-wave loading. The material of the target plate is orthotropic organic plastic. The compression wave was generated on organic plastic using an aluminum striker plate. The velocity of interaction varied from 100 to 400 m/s. The study is carried out numerically by the finite element method in a three-dimensional statement using the author's software EFES. An elastic-brittle model is proposed to describe the behavior of the composite. A tensor-polynomial criterion of the second degree is used as a criterion of the fracture of the composite. A two-stage model is proposed to describe the fracture of the orthotropic material of the target plate. The model of the behavior of the composite takes into account the different modulus of strength properties in compression and tension. The behavior of the material of the striker is described by an elastoplastic medium, for the fracture of which a deformation criterion is proposed according to the limiting value of plastic deformation. The influence of the direction of reinforcement of the composite on the fracture of the target plate was studied. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
