Abstract

Co<subscript>3</subscript>O<subscript>4</subscript> was synthesized on carbon paper (CP) using a facile method to improve electrochemical nitrate-toammonia conversion efficiency. The resulting Co<subscript>3</subscript>O<subscript>4</subscript>-CP electrode demonstrated an exceptional Faradaic efficiency of almost 100% across a broad range of application conditions, with a peak NH<subscript>3</subscript> yield of 3.43 mmol h<superscript>-1</superscript> cm<superscript>-2</superscript> (2.25 mol gCo<superscript>-1</superscript> h<superscript>-1</superscript>).
