Abstract
- The article discusses the dilemma being faced by the U.S. president on whether to intervene in the Jordanian civil war. It will be catastrophic to the U.S. and Western interest in the Middle East if Jordanian King Hussein will be overthrowed. Therefore, it is a must for the U.S. to intervene in the civil war. The dilemma lies on whether to launch an overt military operations in Jordan. This will surely worsen the anti-Americanism among the Arab nations. The Soviet Union might also support the war on the side of the Arabs. The U.S. president is right in employing diplomatic pressures on the present situation.
