Abstract

The current situation in the energy sector is reflecting the demand for electricity saving and advanced energy storage systems. As a promising option for energy storage, high-temperature media, often doped with nanoparticles, leading to the formation of nanofluids, are finding usage. The key property of these systems is the specific heat capacity, which is commonly being improved by the addition of nanoparticles. A simple specific heat capacity comparative method suitable for larger sample volumes is hereby introduced, applicable especially for the relative comparison of heat capacities. The development of the experimental setup, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of the method, are described and discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
