Abstract

The indictment, filed Aug. 14 by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis after a 2 ½ year probe, alleges that Trump and 18 co-conspirators violated Georgia's racketeering law. Trump, who denies wrongdoing, has called the Georgia indictment a "travesty of justice" and said all the cases against him are part of a political bid to derail his run. He allegedly worked directly with top Georgia Republicans, including then-party Chair Shafer, to have the electors meet at the State Capitol on Dec. 14, 2020, and cast Electoral College votes in favor of Trump.
