Abstract

Food consumption is expected to expand by 40–50 percent by 2030 as the population continues to rise. Post-harvest wastage must be minimized by the use of modern agricultural process technology. Solar drying is amongst largely regenerative, effectual, cost-effective, and long-term solutions for preserving agricultural goods on a worldwide scale. There are several solar dryers currently available that dry food goods quicker and keep the flavor and nutritional content of the product. In developing nations such as India, building an economical and cost-effective solar dryer for continual drying of agriculture food items has become a reasonably feasible option for fossil fuel. Presently, sun drying is employed in a variety of industries, including poultry production, the leather sector, the dairy business, sewage drying, and so on. This overview article examined the several types of solar dryers which are extensively used across the world. Furthermore, the most significant impacts of its usage on product quality and its economical, ecological, and social consequences are emphasized. Because economic, environmental, and architectural variables all have a role in solar dryer acceptance and growth. This research will aid researchers in identifying a new research avenue for enhance the efficiency of solar dryers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
