Abstract

Graph Introduction Esophageal cancer is a global concerning health issue, with an incidence of approximately 450 000 patients per year worldwide and ranking sixth among all cancers in terms of mortality [1]. There was an under-representation of severe cirrhosis, with only two patients who were Child-Pugh class C, which could have led to an underestimation of the risks by not analyzing the most fragile patients. This study aimed to assess the technical success and adverse events of endoscopic resection for early esophageal cancer in patients with cirrhosis or noncirrhotic portal hypertension, and to evaluate pre-emptive methods to decrease portal hypertension in French and Belgian centers. Patients with Child-Pugh class C have been excluded from this analysis because of the small patient number (n = 2). b Overall survival according the curative status of the initial resection (curative resection n = 48 patients, noncurative resection n = 28 patients).
