- This article discusses the book "Practice Issues in HIV/AIDS Services: Empowerment-Based Models and Program Applications," edited by R.J. Mancoske and J.D. Smith. This sensitive and comprehensive book focuses on approaches related to the HIV/AIDS crisis in the United States, the inefficient preventative measures regarding many disadvantaged Mexican migrant farm workers and African Americans in the United States and the impact of substance abuse treatment and the spread of HIV infection through the use of injection drugs.
