Understanding health care growth through health insurance industry: An empirical evidence from India.

During the periods 2010-2020, health insurance got awareness due to various reasons like unexpected health issues, accidents, family commitments. To enjoy the tax benefits, sudden financial burden for health issues, financial crisis due to various bank credits and other related factors among the various investment avenues, people consider health insurance also one of the avenues for their investment. This study makes an attempt to analyze the policyholders' preferences and the expectations towards the health insurance sector. For this study, primary data and secondary data are used. Through this study, suggestions were made to the various participants in the Indian health insurance industry. It is concluded that Health Insurance sector cannot grow if reasonable consumer expectations relating to access, cost and quality of healthcare remain promises rather than realities. In this juncture, this is the right time to identify the policyholders' preferences to grow more. This study makes an attempt to analyze the policyholders' preferences and the expectations towards the excellence of the health insurance sector and economic sustainability. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
