Abstract

For stability control of gob-side entry (GSE) in a deep mine, surrounding rock reinforcement and roof cutting are commonly used technical methods. However, there is still a lack of scientific quantitative design guidelines for the above two methods. In this paper, taking the bearing capacity of the surrounding rock as the starting point, a mechanical model of a GSE surrounding rock structure in a deep mine is established, and a mathematical expression for the load-bearing capacity of the yield pillar and the longwall panel rib are obtained. Taking the ultimate bearing capacity of the yield pillar and longwall panel rib as metrics, the state of GSE surrounding rock is divided into four categories according to the relationship between the actual bearing load and the ultimate bearing capacity of the yield pillar and longwall panel rib. For each condition, corresponding manual control and quantitative design methods are proposed, and the control method is preliminarily applied through field engineering examples. This study can provide theoretical and technical support for the stability control of a GSE in a deep mine. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
