Abstract

The article presents the schedule of activities at the annual meeting of the American Economic Association in Washington, D.C. from December 28 to 30, 1990. An executive committee meeting will be held on December 27. On December 28, a seminar on savings and investment behavior in developing economies will be presided by Terry Sicular of Harvard University. Seminar on policy issues in agricultural economics will be presided by Tim Phipps of West Virginia University. Discussion of immigration, language and ethinic issues in relation to public policy in Canada and the U.S. will be presided by William T. Alpert of William H. Donner Foundation and University of Connecticut. Discussion of antitrust and regulation will be presided by Robert D. Willig of Princeton University and the U.S. Department of Justice. Discussion of political-economic developments in the Balkans will be presided by John Michael Montias of Yale University. Discussion of scope, scale, and capital measurement in U.S. manufacturing will be presided by Robert H. McGuckin of the U.S. Bureau of the Census. Discussion of the economics of sustainability will be presided by Joel Darmstadter of the Resources for the Future organization.
