Abstract

Since the beginning of this century, there is a tremendous increase in awareness that non-renewable resources are getting exhausted and future will completely be dependent upon renewable sources of energy. Present century will be the foundational century as we move more towards renewable, recyclable & reusable resources. Natural fibres are extremely sustainable and completely renewable resources. It is not new to use natural fibres. Earlier horse hair was used in mortar and straw for mud blocks, and many types of plants like sisal, coco, bamboo, jute, elephant grass have been used as a natural fibre. There is a lot of work going on right now in order to reduce pollution and recycle waste. Concrete technology utilizes waste material in concrete, and scientists are experimenting with new technologies and techniques for this purpose. An attempt is being made to regulate the cooling properties, physical assets and mechanical possessions of concrete that are produced from waste human hair with 0%, 0.5%, 1% and 1.5%, human hair by weight of cement. In this favor, various concrete tests were done with 0%, 0.5%, 1% and 1.5% human hair fibre and these concrete tests are checked after 28 days. The result indicates an improvement of compression strength by 13.7%, 18.7% and 26.6% for 0.5%, 1%, 1.5 % human hair respectively after 28 days and flexural strength was improved by 15%, 18.84% and 26.08% for 0.5%, 1%, 1.5% human hair respectively after 28 days.
