Abstract

The article presents case report of a Jewish infant girl who was admitted to the hospital at 11 months of age because of pallor, weakness and fever of a few days duration. On physical examination there was pallor, and the spleen and liver were 4 cm and 3 cm below the costal margins. She had an episode of generalized convulsions at the time of admission. Investigations showed a hemoglobin level of 6.1 Gm. per 100 ml. and a reticulocyte count of 3.5 per cent.. Leukocyte count was 4,600 with 16 per cent granulocytes.
