Abstract

The article presents information on the emergence of policy sciences to nurture and structure a discipline. To make more concrete several ways in which the decision sequence could be used to organize and structure policy scientific research, it is helpful to illustrate a few policy problems--a common feature of which is that they seem especially amenable to comprehensive, multi-method, and interdisciplinary treatment. Energy, communications, health, and many other policy areas are fitting subjects and objects for a policy approach--one which uses concepts such as the decision sequence, and many others, and specialized methods to foster and improve the state of affairs.
