SOCIAL SCIENCES IN CONNECTICUT'S SECONDARY SCHOOLS.

This article reports that the State Board of Education of Connecticut has recently issued a special bulletin entitled "A Manual of the Social Studies for Secondary Schools," in which is outlined in some detail the courses of study in the social sciences, the materials and methods to be used in initiating and conducting such studies, and suggestions for the selection of reference books. The Committee on Social Studies in Secondary Schools remarked that a social study must be required each year, so that in the growing boy or girl there may develop in conjunction with the life of the school and without interruption a constantly deepening understanding of social relationships and responsibilities.
