Abstract

Complexes [{RuCp(PPh<subscript>3</subscript>)<subscript>2</subscript>-μ-dmoPTA-1κP:2κ<superscript>2</superscript>-N,N′-CuCl}<subscript>2</subscript>-μ-Cl-μ-OCH<subscript>3</subscript>](CF<subscript>3</subscript>SO<subscript>3</subscript>)<subscript>2</subscript>·(CH<subscript>3</subscript>OH)<subscript>4</subscript> (1) and [{RuCp(PPh<subscript>3</subscript>)<subscript>2</subscript>-μ-dmoPTA-1κP:2κ<superscript>2</superscript>-N,N′-NiCl}<subscript>2</subscript>-μ-Cl-μ-OH](CF<subscript>3</subscript>SO<subscript>3</subscript>)<subscript>2</subscript> (2) have been synthesized and characterized. Their antiproliferative activities were assessed against six human solid tumours showing nanomolar GI<subscript>50</subscript> values. The effects of 1 and 2 on SW1573 cells colony formation, HeLa cells action mechanism and their interaction with the pBR322 DNA plasmid were evaluated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
